power of questions

Are You Feeling Stuck In Your Career?

Have you been at the same job for years with no advancement opportunities? Are you feeling a bit stuck and looking to get ahead at work? Then you need to start asking better questions!

Asking meaningful, thoughtful questions is an essential skill that can help propel your career forward. It’s important to focus on how the right types of queries can really boost your potential. In this blog post, we'll explore how asking better questions can take your career to the next level - no matter what stage of the game you're in.

How Do You Achieve Success?

Success is a combination of many traits, including resilience, grit, knowledge, skills, curiosity, and empathy. But being smart, kind, skilled, and ready isn't enough to be successful; or, more importantly, to feel fulfilled.

What’s my interpretation of achieving success? Be the person who takes action.

It's normal to feel stagnant in your career, but it doesn't need to stay that way. It's up to you, though, and only you, to move yourself forward.

10 Questions To Get Unstuck

If you’re at a career crossroads and don't know which way to turn, you'd do well to take a wiser approach than just aimlessly wandering around. The solution? Start by self-reflecting and asking yourself tough but meaningful questions.

Unpacking why you started on this path, where your strengths and weaknesses lie, and what fulfills or frustrates you about your job will provide you with the clarity you’re looking for. And if you answer honestly with an open mind, identifying what's holding you back becomes much easier, paving the way for a successful transition into the next exciting stage of your career!

Here are 10 questions to ask yourself if you’re feeling stuck in your career:

  1. Am I bored, unchallenged, or have I reached a ceiling?

  2. Are there opportunities within my organization that interest me or would allow me to grow?

  3. What are my short and long-term career goals?

  4. What skills do I need to learn?

  5. Would a mentor, coach, or additional training help me?

  6. Have I asked for feedback on my performance?

  7. What inspires me? What do I love most about my job, and how can I do even more of it?

  8. What aspects don't I like about my job? Is it because I don't understand that aspect or because I don't enjoy it?

  9. Do I even like my current role, manager, or company? (Hard truths that can make a huge difference)

  10. Have I voiced my needs and desires to those who could help me?

Dig deep! But as the quote stated, knowing is not enough. Now you need to take action.

  • Interested in an online course? Be the person who TAKES it.

  • Have a cool idea? Be the person who TESTS it.

  • Spot a promotion? Be the person who APPLIES for it.

Whether you're just starting out in your career or you're a seasoned vet, remember - it's never too late to make a shift towards something that brings you happiness and fulfilment. Just take action. The sooner you do, the sooner you'll see results.

They say you're 40% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.
